Shimbashi Soba

Wonderful authentic little Japanese restaurant serving a variety of delicious dishes with soba dishes being their speciality. We tried a couple of small dishes and their cold soba dishes as the weather was quite warm but can't wait for cooler days to try their warm soba dishes.

Salmon Yukke - very nice flavours and the salmon was fresh.

Tender Ox tongue - nice thick juicy pieces with a wonderful teriyaki sauce.

Tororo Seiro chilled - Soba noodles with grated mountain yam is uniquely Japanese, delicious and the texture of the yam is very unique. Soba-yu is the water left from boiling the soba and is complimentary.

Served in a little teapot, it is mixed with the leftover dipping sauce. Simply delicious.
